Elisabeth M. Rock

Elisabeth (McCloskey) Rock is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator with 23 years of experience in litigation, and is a member of the National Roster of Arbitrators with the American Arbitration Association.

Prior to embarking on her career in alternative dispute resolution, Lis began her legal career in 1994, as a trial lawyer with the law firm formerly known as Haddad, Josephs, Jack & Gaebe in Coral Gables, where she defended and prosecuted a wide array of cases with a concentration in the areas of: catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, product defects, complex roadway and construction accidents, nursing home neglect and commercial litigation. In recognition of her demonstrated success in litigation, Lis received an “AV” rating from the Martindale Hubbell directory, representing the highest evaluation attainable by peer recommendation in the legal community.

In 2000, Lis became a partner in her own firm, pursuing the same areas of practice, with an additional emphasis on business disputes. In 2012, Lis joined the law firm of Silva & Silva, where she concentrated her practice in the areas of catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases, including those injuries and deaths resulting from medical malpractice. Lis also represented both shareholders and officers in large corporate and banking cases.

In addition to her work as a mediator and arbitrator, Lis served as Chairperson of the 11th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee in order to uphold the highest standard of professionalism and ethics in the local practice of law. She is also a member of the Florida Bar, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Florida Justice Association, the Miami-Dade County Justice Association, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
